Presentation
Van Buren Bolsward is the only sheepskin tannery in the Netherlands.
Since 1861, raw sheepskins have been carefully and expertly processed into high-quality leather and skin products. These natural products bring warmth, softness, and character to any interior. Tanning hides is a traditional and intensive process, consisting of more than ten precise steps such as washing, scraping, spinning, sanding, stretching, and brushing. Although some operations are assisted by machines, craftsmanship always remains at the heart of the process. In addition to sheepskins, Van Buren offers a wide range of various skins such as cowhides, goatskins, reindeer skins, and more. All our skins come from the meat industry. That's why all our skins are recycled and sustainable. For six generations, the know-how of tanning and working with hides has been passed down in the Van Buren family. This unique combination of tradition and innovation has enabled Van Buren Bolsward to successfully process furs and skins for over 160 years. Quality and durability are always at the heart of our concerns.”
